Tuesday, December 27, 2011

On behalf of the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon:

On Saturday, December 31 at 10 a.m., the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon will host a hike to save Helen Hunt Falls Visitors Center, also known as “the Cub,” and bring an end to the Give! Campaign.  Meet at the Helen Hunt Fall Visitors Center, 4075 North Cheyenne Cañon Rd. There two hiking options: Gold Camp Road or the Silver Cascade Trail.  Please bring crampons and proper foot wear for icy conditions.  Lunch and drinks will be provided beginning at noon at the Starsmore Discovery Center, 2120 S. Cheyenne Cañon Rd. Please RSVP no later than noon on December 29 by calling (719) 385-6086. The event is free to the public, however donations to the Give! Campaign are requested. Donate at www.indygive.com.   All donations will help to furnish the inside of “the Cub” with new exhibits to continue with our mission to “preserve, protect and enhance the natural, scenic and historic resources of North Cheyenne Cañon Park” through education and involvement of the community.  For more information, please call 385-6086.
