Structure fire at 4737 Splendid Circle North


Colorado Springs, CO– Colorado Springs Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 4:40am on November 23, 2011. The first engine arrived at 4:46am to see heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the home and called a working fire. Firefighters quickly knocked down the main body of the fire and continued to put out fire that had extended into the attic space.

This was a single alarm fire and CSFD responded with two fire engines, one fire truck, heavy rescue unit and four support apparatus. CSFD had 24 firefighters on scene working to put out the fire. The fire started on the deck of the home and extended into the kitchen and attic.

CSFD fire investigators were called out to the scene and have found the fire to be accidental caused by careless smoking. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported. The tenants that live in the home have been notified and will be displaced as a result of the fire. The CSFD “After the Fire” representatives and the American Red Cross will assist the family with any needs they may have.
