Boy Scout Raises Money and Installs a Flag Pole at Fire Station #3

Colorado Springs, CO - William Hamilton, a Boy Scout, was looking for a community improvement project he could do to earn his Eagle Scout designation. He proposed raising money to install a flag pole at Colorado Springs Fire Station #3 in Old Colorado City. The Fire Department was honored to be chosen to be part of the process. William raised all the funds on his own to have the ground cleared, sprinklers moved, concrete poured and a flag pole installed with new landscaping around it. Absolutely no money was asked of the City to do the project.

The flag pole will be dedicated in a small ceremony on Saturday, September 24th with the Honor Flag from the Colorado State Capitol. The Boy Scout Honor Guard will present the flag and it will be raised and then lowered.
