Structure Fire at 7885 Lindsey Drive
Colorado Springs, CO - Colorado Springs Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 6:30am on July 31, 2011. The first engine arrived at 6:37am to see heavy smoke coming from the home and called a working fire. Firefighters were unable to fight the fire from the inside of the home due to the floors not being stable and the staircase being burned out. Crews took a defensive attack and fought the fire from the outside of the structure.
This was a single alarm fire and CSFD responded with two fire engines, two fire trucks and five support apparatus. CSFD had 24 firefighters on scene working to put out the fire. The fire was on the inside of the home. No one was living in the home at the time of the fire. Damages are estimated to be around $120,000. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
