Q: What are the steps and requirements to become a licensed contractor?

A: 

Contractor licensing is handled by the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department.  http://www.pprbd.org/contfiles/ContLicensing.html

 

There may be additional licenses and permits required from The City.  Pikes Peak Regional Building Department can guide you on these requirements once they know more about the specific work you intend to perform.

Q: What are the requirements for a home-based business?

A: 

For requirements and contact information for Home-based businesses and Home Occupation permits, visit the Land Use Review Division. 

To determine if you business requires a license from the City, visit the City Clerk's License and Applications page.  If your business type is not listed there, you will not require a license.  However, other permits from Land Use Review (listed above) may be required.

For additional information about Sales Tax requirements, visit the Revenue and Collections Division.
