Identified in Preliminary Flash Flood Risk Analysis for the Waldo Canyon Burn Scar
Colorado Springs, Colo. -- In an effort to ensure the public is aware of areas at risk for flash flooding and can take appropriate action before the midsummer rainy season begins, the City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management will host two preparedness meetings for businesses and residents along the waterways for North and South Douglas Creeks.
These meetings will address potential impact on North and South Douglas Creeks identified in the Preliminary Flash Flood Risk Analysis for the Waldo Canyon Burn Scar, which was released today. Postcard invitations will be mailed to residents and businesses in affected areas. The public is encouraged to view the maps online at www.springsgov.com/floodinfo to determine their flood risk. Meetings are open to the public.
