Labor Day and Vintage Base Ball Game (Event Type)

Event Date:  September 3, 2012; 10 am to 3 pm

Location:  Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site - 3105 Gateway Road, Colorado Springs, CO  80904

Details:  Labor Day is set aside as a day of rest for everyone who works for a living.  We celebrate the day with our annual vintage base ball match between the Camp Creek Cloud Busters (your home team) and the Colorado Territorial All-Stars from Denver.  The first pitch will be at 1:00 pm. The rules are different; no one wears a mitt or glove (except the catcher).  The “cranks” (that’s you, the spectators) can influence the umpire’s call in your team’s favor.  Picnics are welcome and enjoy an ice cold cream soda or root beer at the Pop Shed next to the General Store.  Vendors will have hotdogs, ice cream, popcorn and peanuts as well.  It may be the end of the summer, but not the fun!
