Friends Group and City to host 10th Anniversary Celebration
of the formation of Red Rock Canyon Open Space

Entertainment for the whole family in one of Colorado Springs natural treasures
Music, Indian Dancing, Food, Drink, Rock Climbing Demonstrations
Mayor Steve Bach and dignitaries  to speak  at 10:30 AM  this Saturday
 

Colorado Springs, CO, August 17, 2013:  To honor the special occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the formation of Red Rock Canyon Open Space, The Friends of Red Rock Canyon and the City of Colorado Springs will be holding a celebration this Saturday , August 17, 2013, from 10AM to 4PM, at the Bock Pavilion at Red Rock Canyon Open Space  (off Highway 24 at Ridge Road). There will be live entertainment led by One Nation Walking Together and the J. Miller Band.  Vendor and non-profit organizations will have booths and demonstrations to inform you about opportunities of enjoying and protecting the wonders of the nature around us.   Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach will help kick-off a 10:30AM awards ceremony to honor key individuals helped in the formation and preservation of Red Rock Canyon Open Space.   Food and drink will be available for purchase by Front Range Barbeque and others.

The Friends of Red Rock Canyon is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the recreational, educational and interpretive programs of the park, and provide materials and services to the public which promote an understanding, and appreciation of the habitat,  the natural history, cultural history and sciences of Red Rock Canyon.  Our website is full of informative articles about the recreational opportunities and history of Red Rock Canyon, at www.RedRockCanyonOpenSpace.org

One Nation Walking Together is a Colorado Springs non-profit committed to making a positive difference in the lives of Native American Indians living on reservations as well as providing programs for urban Indians, coordinating relief effort and donations to help the lives of many.
