Members appointed by the Mayor with consenting approval by City Council.

Regular Meetings scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. in the Pikes Peak Room at City Hall.

The mission of the Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority is to encourage private investment and reinvestment which restores targeted areas with strong community benefits while strengthening the tax base of the whole city. Through partnerships and collaboration, we advance sound urban planning and design, fiscal prudence and cultural sensitivity. Our objective is to facilitate development of balanced, sustainable environments where people live, work and come together as a community. 

The Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority is a 9 member board governed by State Statutes.  The Authority partners with the private sector for redevelopment of distressed areas using state statute-based tools to contribute to public investment related to renovation of deteriorating properties.  We focus on the needs, issues and concerns of the community in community redevelopment and provide leadership on redevelopment issues.  Our projects focus on the advancement of the community?s vision and goals of the comprehensive plan to include the following:

  • Project Area Identification Economic Development Partnerships
  • Urban Renewal Outreach
  • Standards and Processes (Design Guidelines)
  • Affordable Housing Policy
  • Artwork Requirements
