City Council Appointed Boards, Committees and Commissions

OPENINGS

Volunteers needed to fill vacancies on

Apply to Serve on the Independent Ethics Commission

The City is seeking volunteer applicants to fill an open position on the Independent Ethics Commission. The Independent Ethics Commission is appointed by City Council to review ethics complaints and inquiries submitted by citizens through the City Attorney regarding a matter involving an elected official, an appointee including members of boards, committees and commissions appointed by City Council or the Mayor, or an independent contractor. The Commission meets for the purpose of either considering an inquiry for concern or investigating a written complaint as set forth in Section 1.3.103K of the City Code.

Applicants should be aware, that when inquiries or complaints are filed with the Commission, the members may be required to devote a considerable amount of time to the review, investigation and disposition of these matters. Also, a background in ethics issues, business, public affairs, investigations or legal training would be helpful to the Commission, but it is not mandatory.

Send letters of interest and resumes before Tuesday, May 28, 2013 to mdevine@springsgov.com or mail to City Council; Attention Marti Devine Sletta; P.O. Box 1575; Colorado Springs, CO 80901.
