Dave Elliott was born in Niagara Falls, New York, and raised in a rural county north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut in 1973 and was assigned to the USCGC MORGENTHAU. After completing Navy flight training in 1976, he flew patrol planes from Coast Guard Air Stations Miami, Cape Cod, Traverse City, then served in Operations at NORAD and the Customs/Coast Guard C3I-East. After 21 years active duty he retired in June 1994 with the rank of Commander.

After leaving the Coast Guard, Dave was a flight instructor for the USAFA Aero Club while attending night school at Pikes Peak Community College to earn his A.A.S. as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. From 1996 to 2002 he flew as a corporate pilot for several companies in the Denver and Colorado Springs area and finally with the fractional operator Raytheon Travel Air. At the same time, he and his partner began and flew the Sky Watch traffic patrols for Colorado Springs (1996-2003). In 2002, Dave was hired by Frontier Airlines and is currently flying as Captain on the Airbus. He has over 17,000 hours pilot time in 48 different military and civilian aircraft.

Dave earned his M.B.A. from Western New England College and now co-owns several small side businesses at Meadow Lake Airport, renting and selling hangars and airport property and enjoying general aviation. He is currently the President of the Meadow Lake Airport Association Board of Directors in which he has been a board member for 12 years. He also served on El Paso County’s Falcon-Peyton Small Area Master Plan Committee from 2007 to 2008.

Dave lives at Meadow Lake Airport with his wife Connie. Their son, Scott, is a Sergeant with Colorado State Patrol.
