Gisela Shanahan, Aviation Assistant Director, Finance and Administration

Gisela Shanahan has 20+ years of diverse experience in accounting and financial management. Shanahan is responsible for the financial/administrative management of the Airport. She directs and supervises the accounting, budgetary, capital improvement, human resources, and analysis functions and processes. She is also responsible for air service development and serves as the liaison between the Airport and prospective air carriers. She coordinates the Airport's financial activities with other City divisions, outside agencies and organizations.

Shanahan began her career with the Airport in January of 2005. Prior to her current position she was the Airport Finance Manager, supervising and directing the Airport's accounting activities. Before joining the staff at COS, Shanahan served as the Finance Director for a local non-profit organization. Her accounting and finance experience includes expertise in designing and implementing accounting procedures and policies, managing capital projects, budget preparation and management, internal control and financial analysis. She has many years of experience as a proven supervisor/leader.

Shanahan attended both the U.S. Air Force Academy and the University of Maryland, where she graduated Magna cum Laude with a B.S. in Business-Accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and licensed initially as a CPA in the State of Maryland. Shanahan has received numerous leadership awards for her work with non-profit agencies.
