Mark Earle, Aviation Director
Mark Earle has more than 30 years of progressively responsible experience in aviation and airport management. As the Director of Aviation for the City of Colorado Springs, Earle oversees all aspects of the management, operation, maintenance and development of the Colorado Springs Airport (COS). In this position, Earle is responsible for a $22 million annual operating budget and a 6-year, $150 million capital development program.
In addition to his aviation duties, Earle has been tasked with making the Colorado Springs Airport into an engine for regional economic development. This is being accomplished through the development of airport property in partnership with private sector investors. The focal point of this effort is a 1,000 acre business park that is structured to attract new industry and investment to Colorado.
Prior to coming to Colorado Springs, Earle served in senior management positions at commercial service airports in Texas and Virginia. In the early part of his career he worked as an air traffic controller in the U.S. Air Force and for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Earle is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives and serves on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Chapter of that organization. He is active in community affairs, serving on a number of local boards and committees.
Earle graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, with a Bachelor?s degree in Political Science. Mark and Kathleen Earle have been married for 25 years and have three daughters, ages 20, 20 and 17.
