Wally Miller's aviation experience spans more than 50 years in management, advertising, public relations, marketing, safety and training. He has been an active general aviation flight instructor for more than 25 years and was named FAA's Aviation Safety Counselor of the Year for 1998 and 2003 Flight Instructor of the Year for FAA's 9-state Rocky Mountain Region. He was an Air Force pilot, Director of Advertising for the Air Force, served on the staff of the Secretary of the Air Force and directed PR efforts for the industrial sector of the Air Force. He holds a Masters Degree in Communications from the University of Denver. Since retiring from the United States Air Force as a Colonel, he has been involved in aviation and high technology marketing and currently runs an aviation training, safety and consulting business. He is former president of the Colorado Springs Downtown Rotary Club, has served on the Board of the Pikes Peak Center and currently serves on other charitable boards and committees. He is Assistant District Governor of Rotary International's Colorado District and is also involved in charitable fundraising. For the last 15 years, he has been an advisor to Air Force Academy aviation programs. Wally is a member of the Order of Daedalians and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. For 10 years he taught AOPA Flight Instructor Recertification Courses throughout the country and has conducted aviation safety seminars both here and overseas. He and his wife live in Monument.
