COLORADO SPRINGS CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES October 4, 2011 Call to Order Chairman William Green called the meeting of the Colorado Springs Civil Service Commission to order on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the City Administration Building, 30 S. Nevada Avenue, Suite 102, at 8:30 am. Commissioners present: Thomas Exum, William Green, Peg LeClair, and Fran Pitaro Commissioner absent: Jerry Voegele Approval of Minutes Commissioner Pitaro moved to approve the minutes from the June 6, 2011, Civil Service Commissioners’ Meeting. Commissioner Exum 2nd the motion. The Commission unanimously approved the minutes. Entry Level Firefighter Testing Deputy Fire Chief Tommy Smith recommended changing the scores for entry-level firefighter testing. Using the FireTEAM product, the Fire Department recommends changes to the requirements listed below.
Additionally, the Fire Department would like to determine if candidates can successfully climb an aerial ladder as a part of their conditional offer. Commissioner LeClair made a motion to accept the recommended entry level firefighting testing scores. Commissioner Pitaro 2nd the motion. The Commission unanimously approved the recommendations. Use of Commissioners on Entry Level & Promotional Oral Boards/Assessment Centers Deputy Fire Chief Tommy Smith polled the Commissioners to indicate if they would be interested in participating as observers during promotional oral boards. The Commissioners were interested in being observers in the process. Other Business None Adjournment Commissioner LeClair made a motion to adjourn the meeting that was second by Commissioner Exum. Chairman Green adjourned the meeting at 8:56 am. |
